These two links are to articles which I would like to see on SOVA's page for VIWWC, as they concern karst, through which much of Alberni Valley Water runs. Little is known about karst and it has no protection on privately owned land and very little on public land. Cherry Creek area with approximately 2500 people obtain drinking water solely from karst systems on land owned by Island Timberlands. There is no backup system and Cherry Creek Water Works which is linked with the CWSA and the BCWWA (Coastal Water Suppliers' Association and BC Water And Waste Association) have no training in recognition or protection of karst sources of drinking water!
