Dear friends,
I just wanted to update you all on the UN right to water resolution and solicit your support once again. The discussions are ongoing and it appears the UN General Assembly will consider the resolution by the end of July. While many countries appear supportive of the resolution at this time, a handful of countries including Canada are working behind the scenes to undermine the adoption of this historic resolution. It is crucial that the Canadian government hear from us at this point. The following media releases were issued by the Council of Canadians this morning:

3. We are calling on organizations around the world to sign on to a letter that will be distributed to all UN missions before the vote. The letter and further information can be found here:
http://www.blueplanetproject.net/resolution4. We are requesting that organizations and community activists join us for a global day of action on July 22nd to call on all governments to support the UN right to water resolution. Here a few things you can do:
- Download and distribute the attached handbill:

- Contact your MP or urge opposition parties to support the call for a right to water at the UN
- Send out a media release
- Write an op-ed
- Organize a march for the right to water in your community
