The planning for our 2 day water forum in Nanaimo is moving along. The forum is scheduled for Saturday, May 29th and Sunday, May 30th.
Saturday, May 29th, we are conducting water tours, leaving from Bowen Park Recreational facility at 9:00 a.m. One tour will begin in the City Water Facilties and one tour will go out to a watershed. In the afternoon, the tours will occur again so that those that went on the in town tour can go on the watershed tour and vice-versa.
Sunday, May 30th we will be hosting the second day of the Forum at Beban Park Facilities. It too will begin at 9:00 a.m. We have a superb line up of speakers, beginning with Maude Barlow who is an absolute expert on water issues globally. We have Rafe Mair and Cork Evans and Arthur Caldicott in the afternoon. Both halves of this day we will also have four workshops that will run so everyone can be at all workshops. Our workshop presenters are also experts in their fields! We will fill you in on these speakers in the next write up.
The forum is FREE both days for all who attend and we are providing both vegan and meat lunches and snacks on the 29th and the same on the 30th with the addition of a choice of two soups, salad, vegie and fruit platters.
We will be providing an e-mail address for registration in another month. We need registration as we need to know numbers that will be in attendance for bus rental along with the food prep.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
