During the summer and early fall, many signed the petition at Moss Market and a few other locations. We should be able to get many more signatures and I encourage you to download and circulate the petitions among friends and colleagues who have not already signed. These will be presented to the new CRD Board. Please note that all CRD Board Directors vote on the issue of P3s for sewage treatment, so please circulate

Leading up to the elections, workshops were provided on communications and contacting candidates in the Municipal elections. Contacts with their local candidates were made by some members. CUPE prepared a card with information for questions to the candidates. Well over 1900 cards were distributed by several GVWWC members, with many encouraging positive responses from the public. Special thanks to Kim Manton of CUPE 1978, for all her hard work.

Up coming GVWWC events: December Pot Luck Supper; January: Film (TBA) & Discussion; March: Forum on P3s (details TBA).

Three items – details follow:

1. Our next GVWWC "meeting" is a social time and opportunity to get to know others who share your interest and concern about our water systems

2. Please note a special meeting on the tars sands; the impact on rivers and lakes and other water issues is of special concern.
