Open letter to:
Fred Bates -Director of Comox Valley Regional District
Dear Mr. Bates,
This letter is being directed to you, as chairman of the CVRD board, for answers regarding our watersheds and drinking water concerns here in the Comox Valley Region.
As Coordinator for Comox Valley Water Watch Coalition, I think I am not too presumptuous believing that others in our community are asking the same kind of questions regarding our water supplies.
What are your opinions on Water Metering? Are you in favour or not, and why?
What do we need to do now and in the future to offer good quality and adequate quantity of drinking water for generations to come?
Are you in favour of protected drinking water supplies, now and looking into 100 years from now?
What are your views on Watershed protection?
Do you think there should be fair water rates for those that cannot afford it?
What are your goals in providing good quality and quantity of drinking water in the Region?
Many citizens in our community believe that we need a Valley wide approach to watershed protection. Thinking of our water regionally & working together as a whole community would benefit all of us. Can you tell us what your views are on this subject? Do you think we should be fragmented?
CVWWC asks that other equally interested elected officials and those running for office also take this opportunity to let us know how you would respond to these questions.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Kinasewich
