NOTICE:Please note: The Public (No to P3s) Sewage treatment forum scheduled for November 4th has been cancelled.
CALL TO ACTION: You are needed at "All Candidates" Meetings!
- To raise questions on the sewage treatment
- To hand out cards as people arrive
The cards have the award winning “money down the toilet” design with;
LET’S NOT FLUSH MONEY DOWN THE TOILET.Public Sewage Treatment ▪clean▪ green ▪affordable
November 15 Vote for public sewage treatment.
On the reverse of the card: questions & statement for the Candidates:
- Ask if they believe that sewage treatment and related programs should be publicly controlled, managed and operated.
- Ask candidates if they will vote “no” to privatized sewage treatment for our communities.
- Tell candidates that sewage treatment is too important to give to private corporations.
Remember why we need sewage treatment in public hands;
- Accountability - to citizens not shareholders
- Affordability - private management usually leads to higher rates
- Public Health - private corporations often have a poor track record
- Local employment - private corporations often bring in outside contractors and cut maintenance staff to increase profits.
Check our website: www.greatervictoriawaterwatchcoalition.ca and local papers for times and locations of All Candidates meetings near you. Join Kim in handing out the cards, at least half an hour before meeting times.
There is strength in numbers , even handing out cards.
Then go in and ask your questions of the candidates
