When easy access to clean water is seemingly unlimited in developed countries like the United States, it is easy to forget that one five minute shower uses as much water as someone living in a water poor country would use in an entire day. According to the infographic below, the average African uses less than three gallons of water per day. To put that in perspective, an older-model toilet uses three gallons of water each time it flushes.
