Published: Tuesday, September 11, 2007A potentially precedent-setting case that will determine whether local governments can restrict logging in community watersheds because of public-health concerns began yesterday in B.C. Supreme Court.
"The ramifications of the case are huge," said Daniel Bouman of the Sunshine Coast Conservation Association.
"If the appeal is denied, it will establish that local boards of health have the ability to stop practices harmful to the water supply."
