About Water ConnectionsOur Vision…Water Connections is a project designed to realize the Centre for Sustainable Watersheds vision of a national water information resource that will facilitate cooperation and collaboration among Canada’s water community.
Our Mission…The mission of Water Connections is to develop and implement a web-based water information portal that will facilitate access and sharing of water data, resources and contacts nationwide.
First Steps…The first couple of years were exploratory, comprising extensive research and consultation among a wide range of water stakeholders across Canada. The Feasibility Study from this phase was published to our website in final form last April.
Where Are We Now…With an expanded project team now in place, we are well into the development phase, supported by a nationally representative Steering Committee. Design and testing of the portal this winter will include content inputs from a cross section of pilot organizations. The actual water information portal is set to launch in mid June 2008, and we are pleased to report that we are on track to meet this goal!

This info is critical to building an effective tools and resources library for the Water Connections portal. Your participation is essential! If you are interested in taking the 10-15 minute Capacity Survey, check it out online!
